    Curve to Captivate

This Aussie tower is amplifying the country's cultural mix from the top

The sleek, sassy and satin-faced structure of Crown Metropol Hotel is the manifestation of modernity that conforms to the cultural conjunction of Australia. Located in Melbourne, the hotel emerges as the memorable gateway into the city with its sinuous 'S' form structure and activated podium. The tower’s soft lines are enhanced by a shimmering reflective skin, which seemingly draws inspiration from liquid mercury.

Its thin blades or ‘fins’ on the façade appear and disappear as one moves around the building, thereby embellishing the apparent reflections and notions of daylight. The graceful arc to the building creates a soft curve in the internal space to slowly reveal an intriguing sense of mystery. Adjacent to Melbourne's conference centre, the hotel is designed to appeal the businessperson during the weekdays, and to the recreation market on weekends.

In the stylish guest rooms, studios and lofts, public areas and day spa, hand-crafted elements and natural materials are used to evoke tactile warmth, texture and luxury. Vibrant shots of colour, inserted via carpets, specially commissioned artworks by Australian and international artists, accessories and upholsteries, create drama and excitement. Not only does the hotel design fulfil a particular aesthetic brief, it also meets exacting standards for technical performance and function for both front and back of house.

Creating a contemporary angle, the28-level hotel features 658 spacious light-filled guest rooms, a luxurious day spa located on its top floors, a sky bar and terrace onlevel 28, Gordon Ramsay’s maze restaurant and maze grill, extensive meeting facilities and dedicated business centre, and a world-class training and recruitment facility
